Our story
Family-owned in Iowa, with deep Finnish roots
When we went looking for something to seal our own dirty, water-stained sauna benches, we kept finding products full of chemicals and fragrances, or with no ingredient list at all. So we developed our own. Today we make health-conscious sauna care, proudly made in the USA. Hyvää Sauna!
Common questions
What's the difference between wood oil and wood wax?
Pure sauna wood oil penetrates deeply into the wood fibers to condition the wood throughout the sauna. Our Sauna Wax and Bench Wax add natural waxes for an extra water-repellent layer on benches, backrests and door handles.
Do your products contain fragrance?
No. We believe the pure natural wood smell in a sauna is all that's needed. Essential oils are also VOCs that many people are sensitive to, so we believe pure is best.
How often do I need to reapply?
It depends on how often the sauna is used and cleaned. Typically, benches are oiled every 6–12 months.
Are your products safe for all types of wood?
Yes, as long as the wood is raw and porous and hasn't been sealed with paint or a hard-curing sealer such as varnish.
