How to Use

Mix 4oz Sauna Cleaner concentrate with one gallon of water for general sauna cleaning. Scrub with the Sauna Bench Scrub Brush along the grain.

Clean and dry surface thoroughly, sand lightly if needed. Apply a generous coat of Sauna Wood Oil with the applicator pad. Allow the oil to penetrate, then buff off any excess.

For best results, apply Sauna Bench Wax after the oil. Using the applicator pad, scoop out a small amount of wax and rub on an even coat, working with the wood grain. Allow the wax to penetrate, then buff off any excess.

Heat sauna for one hour before use to promote absorption.

Multiple coats may be applied if desired. Wood color may change slightly depending on wood species. Test in hidden area before applying.

In traditional saunas, do not apply oil or wax to ceilings or walls near the stove.

How often should you clean a sauna?
If you use your sauna regularly, clean it weekly. For occasional use, monthly is enough. After every session, wipe the benches with a dry cloth and leave the door and vents open so the wood can dry. Cleaning slowly removes oil and wax, so plan to retreat the wood with Sauna Wood Oil every 6-12 months.

Can I use sauna wood oil in an infrared sauna?
Yes. Sauna Wood Oil is made for both infrared and traditional saunas. In an infrared sauna you can treat every wood surface, but mask off the heater panels first. In a traditional electric or wood-fired sauna, keep oil off the ceiling and off the walls near the stove, where surfaces can get hot enough to vaporize it.
